SpecialtyVehicles.net (SVN) is a management consultancy firm dedicated to providing proprietary business analysis to the medium/heavy vehicular, body, engine, equipment, trailer, component and related industries worldwide. The firm is operated by highly qualified principals with outstanding associate and support staff, briefly profiled as follows: Brij Madan, Vijay Alim, Paula Theno and Sharbari Sen.

Brij Madan is the founder of the firm. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics (LSE) and holds an MBA from Columbia University, New York. His corporate experience prior to founding SVN included the position of Vice President for Business Development for Racor, a world leader in engine filtration systems and since then, a unit of a large multi-national, Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE: PH).

Based initially in London, Brij worked for several years in the European consultancy environment with leading business advisory houses such as The Economist Intelligence Unit and boutique firms that served blue chip clients in the European Economic Community, and on both sides of the Atlantic. Later he managed the New York office of British consultancy PRS, a company that pioneered some of the earliest work on diesel engine market research on a global basis. He joined Racor/Parker Hannifin in Modesto, California, after several years with PRS.

Projects under his management have ranged from individual assignments to controlling a network of staff engaged in worldwide client assignments. With over 25 years of specific industry knowledge, and with excellent functional expertise in finance, marketing, market research, strategy and planning areas, Brij has positioned SVN to provide a unique and specific service to companies in the commercial vehicle and component industries.

Other Staff Profiles:

Vijay Alim provides merger and acquisition expertise at SVN. His experience includes founding and operating Central Technologies, Inc., a California product software company that was awarded the prestigious US Chamber of Commerce, Southern California Chapter, Blue Chip Award for developing and implementing several very successful and unique marketing strategies.

Vijay's prior experience includes 16 years of executive experience, variously with Security Pacific Bank, TRW Corporation, Burroughs Corporation and Young & Rubicom.

At Security Pacific Bank (later acquired by Bank of America), he was responsible for the Mergers and Acquisitions Group, as well as for all electronic banking activity that included development and marketing of check verification systems nationwide. At TRW he was a Product Line Manager for banking products and earlier, at Burroughs and at Young & Rubicom, he carried out various line management and product development projects.

Vijay is active in raising equity capital for emerging enterprises and has been advising companies on marketing and strategic issues, including work-outs and rescue packages for troubled situations.

More recently, Vijay has been actively involved in call center and outsourcing companies in India in an advisory capacity. He travels extensively to India and has visited with several of the major and minor outsourcing vendors. Westbridge Capital, a Goldman Sachs Company, has retained him to recruit the CEO for one of their call center investments, First Ring, Inc. Vijay has an excellent grasp of both US and India-based operations in the outsourcing and BPO areas.

Vijay holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from BITS in India and a Masters Degree from the University of Michigan.

Paula Theno, Vice President/General Manager, joined SVN in 1988. The numerous assignments commissioned to SVN have resulted in her becoming familiar with the unique characteristics of the worldwide medium/heavy vehicular industry, particularly as a result of developing and manipulating large databases for report compilation. Paula graduated from Iowa State University and earned a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Sharbari Sen is an associate consultant with SVN, based in Mumbai, India. Her research is focused on India and Asia Pacific countries, and her reports are specifically oriented towards providing information for identifying local partners and acquisition targets in each country market.

Prior to joining SVN, Sharbari worked for five years with the DCM group in New Delhi and for a year with a boutique capital advisory firm in Kolkata, during the course of which she gained significant expertise in industry and corporate research.

Sharbari holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University and a post-graduate diploma in business management from one of the premier management institutes in India, Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad.
